Hospital physician leaders play an integral role in shaping the delivery of high-quality care in Ontario’s hospitals. Preparing physicians for expanded leadership responsibilities within the hospital environment demands a robust understanding of the factors that influence organizational decision-making.
Designed for emerging hospital physician leaders, this virtual learning series will provide an understanding of the hospital decision-making processes, along with key factors physician leaders must consider including hospital legal accountabilities, funding mechanisms, and relational dynamics.
The program is delivered over the course of three 90-minute sessions. Participants are encouraged to attend each session to cover the full program content, however, individual session registration is also possible. To sign up for the full program, simply register for all three of the sessions below:
Exploring Hospital Legal Accountabilities - Thursday, April 16 from 5:00 - 6:30 pm
Understanding Hospital Funding and Accountability - Thursday, May 7 from 5:00 - 6:30 pm
Managing Relational Dynamics - Tuesday, June 2 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm
The program is intended for prospective hospital physician leaders, and hospital physician leaders who have just entered their roles. Hospital leaders are encouraged to nominate physicians who are anticipated to contribute significantly to the organization's strategic objectives and mandates, including candidates identified in succession planning for senior medical positions such as Chief of Staff or Vice President of Medical Affairs.
