In early January, Trillium Health Partners (THP) was honoured to host a patient's wedding in the atrium of the Queensway Health Centre in Etobicoke. Siqi Yang suffered an Arteriovenous Malformation Rupture, or brain bleed, which required a craniotomy. Over the last year, Siqi has been working with the Queensway Health Centre's neuro rehab clinic to regain speech and mobility and has made significant steps in her recovery.
Along with her fiancé Tao Gao, Siqi asked if her care team would stand with her on her wedding day since they had become “like family to her." Siqi's care team jumped into action, helping to prepare, decorate, and work with Siqi on her walk down the aisle and reciting of vows.
The happy couple was married by one of THP's spiritual leaders, with their care team, family and hospital leadership present.
Congratulations to Siqi and Tao!
