The Ontario Caregiver Organization is Here to Help

This is a very challenging time for physicians and hospital staff. It's also very difficult for family caregivers - the family members, partners, friends and neighbours who support patients. We know that caregivers appreciate all that health care workers are doing to keep patients safe. We also know that caregivers need support as they navigate their way through this challenging time.

The Ontario Caregiver Organization exists to support family caregivers. They offer online support groups and tip sheets related to COVID-19, as well as other resources including:

Caregivers can also access The Ontario Caregiver 24/7 helpline at 1 833 416 2273 or live text available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at www.ontariocaregiver.ca. The helpline is answered by Community Resource Specialists who can provide information about local programs and services, including which programs now have virtual offerings.  If you think a family caregiver could use support, please pass along this important information.
