The human resource and organizational development role across Ontario health care organizations is evolving. Leading people through this period of system transformation requires changing mindsets – shifting focus from the organization to the system. This shift is not a simple change and HR and OD leaders play a critical role in supporting their people through this transition.
While organization leaders are developing integrated systems of care, organizational development and human resource leaders should consider the implications of system change on their people, focusing efforts on:
- The overall well-being of the system vs organizational and professional interests;
- Investing time and effort into building collaborative and inclusive relationships with people across the sector; and
- Promoting a multi-professional leadership approach for individuals within the organization.
The OHA is hosting a one-day workshop led by Suzie Bailey, Director of Leadership and Organizational Development and Jo Vigor, Assistant Director of Leadership and Organizational Development at The King's Fund, a UK based charity which has been working to support leaders in England to design and deliver integrated care.
Building on their experience with the National Health System, this workshop will not only provide clarity and confidence in your role as HR and OD leaders in enabling system change but will also focus on how to re-frame your thinking and explore how the HR and OD leadership community at large can contribute to achieving integrated care and greater collaboration.
