
| Ron Gagnon President and CEO, Waterloo Regional Health Network Ron Gagnon was appointed as the inaugural President & CEO of the newly merged hospital network, effective April 01, 2025.
In preparation for the April 01, 2025, merger of St. Mary’s General Hospital and Grand River Hospital, Ron Gagnon was unanimously selected by the Board to lead the new organization, Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN, pronounced wren), through this historic transformation. A seasoned leader with over 25 years of executive experience, Ron brings a powerful combination of expertise, vision, and a deep personal connection to his work.
Ron Gagnon joined Grand River Hospital (GRH) in 2018 after a 12-year tenure as President & CEO of Sault Area Hospital (SAH). His experience with the building of a new greenfield hospital and the completion of the integration of two hospital corporations has shaped his leadership during the merger and capital development process locally. A CPA, CMA with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University, Ron’s passion for health care is rooted in his personal journey. Read more.

| Dr. Justin Grant Vice President of Research and Innovation, Humber River HealthDr. Justin Grant was appointed Vice President of Research and Innovation, Humber River Health. As the Vice President of Research and Innovation, Dr. Justin Grant holds a key leadership position focused on translating research activity into actionable, real-world healthcare advancements, strategic planning, and fostering collaborative partnerships both internally and externally.
Dr. Grant obtained his PhD at the University of Toronto and an Executive MBA from the Rotman School of Management. Holding a faculty appointment with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, Dr. Grant continues to maintain strong ties to academic institutes across Canada and the United States. After more than a decade of outstanding leadership, Julia Hanigsberg will be retiring from her role as president and CEO effective December 31, 2025. As a result of her remarkable leadership and guidance, Holland Bloorview has made tremendous progress in advancing its vision of the most meaningful and healthy futures for all children, youth and families. Julia’s passion and unwavering commitment to Holland Bloorview has resulted in transformative impact in the lives of children and youth with disabilities and developmental differences, not only at Holland Bloorview, but across the health-care sector, through research, teaching and learning. Over the last decade, Julia forged strong partnerships to expand system capacity, including co-founding the Kids Health Alliance and the Children’s Health Coalition which in turn, was instrumental in securing an historic $330 million investment in pediatric health care. | Mike Heenan Interim President and CEO, St. Joseph’s Health SystemAppointed as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph’s Health System in April 2025, Dr. Michael Heenan leads one of Canada’s largest mission-based, academic health systems with services in acute care, mental health and addictions, long-term care, hospice and home care. Prior to this appointment, Mike joined St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton as President in November 2023. Before St. Joe’s, Dr. Heenan held executive leadership roles in a variety of hospital settings as well as serving as the Assistant Deputy Minister, Hospitals and Capital, in Ontario’s Ministry of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic. A visionary, service-based, transparent leader who values engagement and collaboration, Dr. Heenan is widely respected across the province as a knowledgeable, resourceful, and community-minded health leader with a deep understanding of hospital operations, the continuum of care, quality and patient experience, the importance of evidence-based research, and government planning and decision-making processes. Andrea brings a wealth of experience to driving strategic innovation and charting SHN's course for future success. She will ensure that SHN continues its leading plan in analytics and information management to drive service excellence and quality patient care, including optimization of the network's Epic clinical information system. Noura will play a pivotal role in shaping SHN's organizational culture and recruitment strategy, leading the optimization of its new Human Capital Management systems to ensure SHN remains an employer of choice. Her leadership will help foster an environment where everyone within the network will thrive and contribute to SHN's vision. | Suzanne Madore President and CEO, Renfrew Victoria (RVH) and St. Francis Memorial hospitalsSuzanne Madore has been named the new President and CEO of Renfrew Victoria (RVH) and St. Francis Memorial hospitals. Suzanne comes to RVH with a distinguished career in health care, having devoted more than 30 years of “exemplary service” in various leadership roles at The Ottawa Hospital. Madore began her career as a registered nurse. Over the years, she has held a series of key leadership positions, including Clinical Director of the Regional Cancer Program, and Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Nursing Executive at The Ottawa Hospital.
