To support learning in allyship and foster a sense of belonging in health care settings, the Office of Equity at Women's College Hospital (WCH) is proud to share the all-new Allyship Toolkit.
This comprehensive resource is designed to equip health care professionals with the knowledge and practical tools to practice allyship with both patients and colleagues. It covers everything from foundational concepts to actionable strategies and includes guidance on integrating allyship into health research and community engagement efforts.
Developed in collaboration with over 20 diverse thought leaders from the Women's College Hospital community, the Allyship Toolkit emphasizes key principles such as inclusivity, cultural safety and cultural humility. Whether you're working with equity deserving communities as a care provider, planning events, conducting research or leading focus groups, the toolkit provides essential tools and insights to make a meaningful impact.
While the toolkit has a particular focus on functions within WCH, it has been created with all health settings in mind. All hospital staff, physicians, learners and volunteers are encouraged to download the Allyship Toolkit and continue their journey toward meaningful allyship in health care.
Whether at WCH or beyond, by committing to active allyship, health care professionals can contribute to systemic change, improve health outcomes for marginalized groups and create a more equitable and inclusive health care system for all.
