DiverSTEAM Symposium Showcases Hospital-Based Research Careers

On May 25, 2022, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) together with Let's Talk Science is hosting the Youth DiverSTEAM Symposium – an event to promote interest and careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) in hospital-based research institutes to high school students across the province, particularly those from under-represented or racialized communities. The virtual event will be held in Gather  - a simulation game environment and feature short, interactive talks, videos and virtual tours.

Hospital researchers and trainees of diverse backgrounds will share their passion for research and their academic career journeys with students of similar backgrounds. High school students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to hear first-hand about the various pathways to a career in STEAM and to network in a virtual interactive environment.

For Students

These questions will be answered by researchers from diverse backgrounds in all STEAM disciplines at the Youth DiverSTEAM Symposium. Learn more about the exciting research happening in Ontario's hospital-based research institutes from their passionate scientists in this virtual, video game style symposium on May 25, 2022.
