Membership Types

​​​​​​​​​​​​Hospitals (Full Members)

Full members of the OHA include Ontario's public hospitals. Currently, the OHA has 136 hospital members​. The OHA supports member hospitals through advocacy, member engagement and knowledge transfer, labour relations, and data and analytics with the goal of helping hospitals build a better health system. The OHA is also attuned to the broader strategic questions facing the future of the province’s health care system and we work to ensure Ontario’s hospitals have a voice in shaping this longer-term vision.  

Associates, ​Affiliates and International Memberships

The OHA welcomes applications for membership from non-profit and for-profit organizations involved in the delivery of health care in Ontario and abroad. As an associate, affiliate and international member your organization is entitled to valuable benefits, including:

  • Eligibility to participate in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), one of the largest and most successful pension plans in Canada.
     
  • ​Deep discounts on annual salary surveys for over 375 different hospital jobs, crucial information to support HR decisions and determine competitiveness in the labour market.

The categories of OHA membership available to qualifying organizations include:

Associate Membership

Organizations participating in health care in Ontario on a not-for-profit basis.

  • HOOPP Participant Annual Dues: $3,428 

  • Non-HOOPP Participant Annual Dues: $2,057 

Affiliate Membership

Organizations participating in health care in Ontario on a for-profit basis.

  • HOOPP Participant Annual Dues: $6,861 

  • Non-HOOPP Participant Annual Dues: $4,800 

Note: To allow greater flexibility for smaller organizations interested in becoming an Associate or Affiliate member, the OHA has annu​al dues of $1,251 ​for organizations that have 10 or fewer full-time equivalent staff.

International Membership

Organizations participating in health care outside Ontario on a not-for-profit or for-profit basis.

  •  Annual Dues: $6,244 

Note: In assessing an appropriate rate, the OHA may consider the role of the organization and whether its mandate supersedes or augments that of multiple organizations that are currently OHA members. An association or shared service organization may be assessed a separate rate for each member organization and a parent organization also may be assessed a separate rate for each corporation within its group.
