Mental Health and Addictions Quality Standard – Schizophrenia Care Dashboard
Page Content
The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) has developed the
Mental Health and Addictions Quality Standard – Schizophrenia Care Dashboard to share indicator results with hospitals with inpatient mental health activity and allow them to compare their performance with peers using these quality metrics
that will be quarterly updated based on the Ontario Mental Health Reporting System (OMHRS) Schizophrenia Discharge reports.
On behalf of the Hospitals Advisory Committee, the OHA has been working closely with the Ministry of Health to collect and validate data measuring clinical interventions and services based on the Ontario Health
Quality Standard Schizophrenia – Care for Adults in Hospitals. This data collection is intended to support the adoption of clinical best practices and identification of improvement activities and appropriate benchmarks. As part of the
Mental Health and Addictions Funding Initiative, it will also be used to explore a pay for quality approach to mental health care in Ontario.
The dashboard can be accessed through a secure portal by staff in the following roles at hospitals with inpatient mental health activity: CEOs, CFOs, VPs of Medical Affairs, Staff in Mental Health Units, Decision Support and Finance Leads. It should be used for performance measurement and quality improvement purposes.
