QBP Resources

Quality-Based Procedures (QBPs) are a significant component of Ontario’s Health System Funding Reform (HSFR) strategy. QBPs are specific clusters of patient services that offer opportunities for health care providers to share and implement best practices and improve quality care and system efficiency through process improvements, clinical redesign and enhanced patient experience.

The OHA has developed a number of resources to assist hospitals with QBP implementation. They include:

COPD Resources

In June of 2015, the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) and the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) co-hosted clinician-targeted education sessions to support the implementation of the QBP clinical Pathway
for COPD

At these educational regional sessions, Dr. Charlie Chan describes the evidence used in the development of the COPD clinical pathway and he also describes the use of the pathway in clinical practice. Mr. Thomas Custers presents the COPD QBP indicator results and highlighted the gaps between desired and actual performance to improve practice. The other videos capture regional discussions about the COPD QBP recommendations as facilitated by their respective clinical chairs.
