HSFR Data Quality

Health data are used to inform public policy, support health care management and increase public awareness about the factors affecting health. Health System Funding Reform (HSFR) is a key component of payment, policy and planning support for the delivery of high quality, patient-centered care.  Health data and information quality are intrinsic to HSFR.

Recognizing the importance of having high quality data, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) has created a Health Data Quality Advisory Group to give advice on common data quality issues identified in Ontario’s hospitals, which have an impact on HSFR - Health Based Allocation Model (HBAM) or Quality-Based Procedures (QBPs) and potential solutions.

Using short video presentations, you can learn about the reporting guidelines and how to reduce reporting variation in your hospital.  As more videos are compiled, they will be organized into topics.  To view data quality videos, click on a video below to learn more about each topic and the link to data quality and HSFR.  We encourage you to submit a suggested topic or volunteer to produce a video for the website.
