​​​“Your Health Care – Be Involved” is an initiative developed and managed by the Ontario Hospital Association.  Originally launched within hospitals in September 2005, it was the first campaign of its kind in Ontario.  “Your Health Care – Be Involved” seeks to empower patients and promote better health outcomes by bringing the advice and expertise of health professionals together through five common-sense patient safety “tips”.  These tips help ensure that patients have the information they need to make the most of every health care experience.

To demonstrate its continued commitment to patient safety, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), developed a campaign designed to educate patients about the importance of effective hand hygiene. This campaign has been branded, “Clean Hands Protect Lives”, and it complements the OHA’s successful, “Your Health Care – Be Involved” campaign
