Executive Compensation

On September 6, 2016, the Ontario government announced requirements for determining executive compensation for broader public sector employers, including hospitals. The requirements are established in a regulation that will require each hospital board to create its own executive compensation program.

On June 9, 2017, the government released a Directive and amended regulation outlining additional requirements for the development and implementation of executive compensation programs.

The OHA continues to support and encourage a fair and balanced approach to all public sector compensation.

This resource page is designed to support hospitals with the requirements of the executive compensation framework and developing an executive compensation program for submission to government before September 29, 2017.
