Terry Campbell​

Board Member

Following a 16-year career in the Ontario civil service, in 1997, Terry Campbell joined the Canadian Bankers Association (CBA), the advocacy organization for the banking industry in Canada. After a series of progressively senior positions, Terry was appointed President and CEO of the CBA in 2011 (and ex-officio member of its board), a role he held until his retirement in 2017. As CBA President, he was also a member of the Board of Directors of the UK-based International Banking Federation, a forum which addresses global banking issues. 

Active in community volunteering, Terry was involved in mentoring programs for recent immigrants administered by a number of Toronto-based immigrant support agencies, and served as Chair of the Banks Division (covering foreign and smaller domestic banks) for the United Way of Toronto.

In 2018, Terry became a member of the Board of Guelph General Hospital (GGH). Currently, he serves as Vice-Chair for GGH, Chair of the Governance Committee, and member of the Nomination and Audit Committees. Previous governance experience includes the Guelph Museums Board of Management and the Board of the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario.

Terry graduated with a Master's degree in History from Queen's University and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Toronto. He completed the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2014, and has pursued a range of continuing education programs in the fields of management, governance, and leadership.

Terry lives in Guelph with his wife Christine and is the proud father of two adult children, Susie and John.​​
