Nirupa Muthurajah
Board Member
As Director, Equity Strategies Lead at University Pension Plan (UPP), Nirupa oversees the design and management of the organization's active equity portfolio. She is responsible for manager research and due diligence across long-only and equity long-short strategies, while helping shape the long-term strategic direction of UPP's active equity program.
Nirupa's career spans leadership roles at Canada's leading institutional investors, including the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, CPP Investments, and a prominent family office. Her experience spans both public and private markets, including developing global systematic investment strategies, constructing hedge fund portfolios, supporting direct lending investments across Asia-Pacific, and investing across early- to late-stage private equity and public equity strategies.
Nirupa holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Financial Mathematics with Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. She serves on the Board of Directors and chairs the Investment Committee of the Ontario Hospital Association and is also a member of the Investment Committee for the Pension Plan of the United Church of Canada. Outside of work, Nirupa enjoys spending time with her young family and is a proud ambassador for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, a cause that is deeply personal to her.
