Donna Wellington

Board Member

Donna Wellington is a health care leader at Henry Ford Health System, Detroit Michigan with over 20 years' experience spanning hospital operations within a Level 1 academic/research setting, ambulatory care practice management, both medical and surgical and behavioural health services. Currently, Donna serves as COO-Behavioural Health and leads the strategic direction and operational transformation of Behavioral Health Services into a comprehensive, integrated, high-quality provider of behavioral health services for the system. She is responsible for inpatient and emergency room psychiatric services, the freestanding psychiatric hospital, ambulatory behavioural health clinical services and addiction medicine- residential and outpatient center. Donna has extensive leadership experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings at Henry Ford Health System, having served as Vice President of Operations at Henry Ford Hospital (HFH); Senior Administrator-Henry Ford Medical Group, overseeing Women's Health, Dermatology, and Genetics, Urology, Primary Care and Pediatrics. She has also served as a hospital Nurse Administrator for Neurosciences, Maternal Child, NICU and Minimally Invasive Surgery at HFH.

Donna has served on multiple boards within Windsor Essex-County, including Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital – also as Chair for the Quality committee, University of Windsor – Odette School of Business, and was a past board member of Windsor Regional Hospital and the World Health Innovation Network. She was named a 2020 honouree to the prestigious Top 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women and was recognized by the University of Windsor as a 2019 Community Champion. Donna is a Carol Emmott fellow from the 2017 inaugural class of 15 female health care leaders and the only Canadian.

Donna's speaking engagements include: St. Clair College STEM program 2020, Provincial 3MT judge Ontario Universities competition 2020, keynote speaker for Georgie Odette Leadership Symposium 2019 and Women's International day sponsored by Women's Enterprise Skills Training of Windsor (WEST) in 2018.

Donna holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Windsor. She resides in Windsor Essex-County with her two children, Tarik and Sierra.
