An all-in-one digital hub, called the Thriving Minds Information Hub, is helping patients, caregivers and health-care providers navigate mental health programs, services and support across The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH), and The Garry Hurvitz Community Centre for Mental Health at SickKids (GH-CCMH) through a unique partnership between the three organizations.
The comprehensive website features dedicated audience-specific pages, information on over 39 mental health programs and services, self-help tools for youth, educational resources for both youth and providers, as well as trusted up-to-date referral information to help streamline access.
“Our vision is to create a truly integrated system of mental health care, where children, youth, and their families can easily navigate pathways to the support they need," says Dr. Louise Gallagher, Chief, Child and Youth Mental Health Collaborative, SickKids & CAMH and lead of Thriving Minds.
“By offering reliable, up-to-date information and resources, we're building a foundation for sustainable, coordinated care that empowers young people and those who support them, every step of the way."
In June 2024, the three organizations signed a memorandum of understanding committing to jointly reimagine access to mental health care for children and youth in Ontario. Building an information hub to help patients, families and referrers navigate the system represents a first step in progress.
Other projects underway aim to help streamline care pathways for youth and their families, improve equitable access to care, and create opportunities to link clinical priorities to research, education and professional development.
