Central Bargaining

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The OHA has long been a part of the Central Bargaining process for Ontario hospitals.  Labour Relations Services (LRS) coordinates and implements the Central Bargaining process for seven major unions representing hospital workers in Ontario.
 
The OHA negotiates o​n behalf of voluntarily participating hospitals with:

  • Ontario Nurses' Association (134 hospitals covering approximately 60,000 employees)
  • Ontario Public Sector Employees Union (52 hospitals covering approximately 11,000 employees)
  • ​Canadian Union of Public Employees (54 hospitals covering approximately 25,000 employees)
  • Service Employees International Union (33 hospitals covering approximately 13,000 employees)
  • Unifor (9 hospitals covering approximately 1,700 employees)
  • Professional Association of Residents of Ontario (25 hospitals covering approximately 5,000 reside​nts)
  • Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (10 hospitals covering approximately 100 employees)
Included below are the standard central contracts.  They describe provisions respecting conditions of employment, fringe benefits, rates of pay and the right or duties of the parties to the agreement.
