Proposed Selections for Chairs and Directors of Local Health Integration Networks

For the Attention of Hospital CEOs, Board Chairs, OHA Board of Directors and CACN Members

From Steve Orsini, Vice President, Policy and Public Affairs

Eighteen nominees to the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) Boards, including all of the Board chairs, have been called to appear before the Standing Committee on Government Agencies. The Orders-in-Council for these nominees will not be signed by the Lieutenant Governor until the Committee votes on their appointments. While the Committee could, in theory, vote against a nominee, in practice it almost never occurs as the government in power has the majority of votes. The Orders-in-Council for those not required to appear before the Committee will be signed immediately.

The nominees appearing before the Committee have been included below. Six of the eighteen nominees will appear before the Committee on May 18, 2005.
