Toronto: The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) strongly supports today's provincial government announcement of $73.2 million targeted towards acute home care, end-of-life care and chronic home care in Ontario as it is good for patients and will help ease pressures in Ontario hospitals.

"Over time, this home care funding should relieve some of the pressures being faced by Ontario hospitals," said Hilary Short, OHA President and CEO. "The investment will help reduce hospital admissions and allow those needing chronic and palliative care to receive their treatment in the comfort of their home."

"We welcome the government's commitment towards improving access to care," added Short. "By making investments in one sector, the benefits can be realized in others."
