OHA Provides Health System Facts and Figures
The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) is excited to inform you about the launch of a new website that offers up-to-date information about Ontario’s health system. The website, called “Health System Facts and Figures,” is designed to be a handy reference of key facts and statistics about health care in Ontario and beyond.
Health System Facts and Figures is a public website, with additional, in-depth Power Point slides available through an OHA Members-only login. The website provides a variety of national and international health system comparisons of performance including:
- Health Status;
- Activity;
- Expenditures;
- Hospital Efficiency; and
- Resources.
It can be accessed directly at www.healthsystemfacts.com, or through a button on the front page of the OHA’s website, www.oha.com.
The website will be updated regularly with additional information.
While Ontario hospitals are the most efficient in the country, they are committed to ongoing, quality improvement, and benchmarking is an important step in enhancing patient care. The OHA strongly supports health system performance research and the use of indicators to improve performance and to inform the overall system planning and decision-making.
