Launch of "Your Health Care - Be Involved" Campaign

For the Attention of Hospital Board Chairs, CEOs, Chiefs of Staff, Chief Nursing Officers, OHA Board of Directors and CACN Members

From Hilary Short, OHA President and CEO

On Tuesday, September 13 at 10:30 a.m. the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) will launch “Your Health Care – Be Involved”, a province-wide campaign designed to empower patients, enhance patient safety and promote better health outcomes.

Member hospitals have been provided with a “Campaign Kit”, which includes campaign posters, patient summary forms, “Tips” brochures, “Tips” wallet cards and a DVD featuring a “Your Health Care – Be Involved” infomercial. We encourage Members to post these materials in high-traffic patient areas by 10 a.m. on September 13.

To ensure that the “Your Health Care – Be Involved” tips are accessible to patients across Ontario, the promotional materials will be available in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Tagalog, Polish, Punjabi, Chinese, Greek, Tamil, Vietnamese, Hindi and Arabic. These materials, and the infomercial, will be available on September 13th under “Latest News” at www.oha.com.

A multi-city “Your Health Care – Be Involved” advertising campaign will also begin on September 13. This advertising campaign will include ads being placed in transit shelters and on buses and subways.

The OHA will post a news release and backgrounder on Canada Newswire (www.newswire.ca) announcing the launch of “Your Health Care – Be Involved” at 10:30 a.m. on September 13. This news release will provide the media with details about the campaign and how they can access the campaign materials. In addition, campaign materials will be emailed directly to a comprehensive list of province-wide and local media.
