Canadian Patient Safety Week
The Ontario Hospital Association’s Patient Safety Support Service is pleased to be collaborating with the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) to promote Canadian Patient Safety Week. This is the first Canadian week of this kind and takes place October 21-28, 2005. Attached is a one-page overview describing the strategy for this year’s Canadian Patient Safety Week. The material has been developed by the Canadian Patient Safety Institute, and they have asked for the OHA’s help in distributing to our members.
This year’s event will focus on media to raise awareness of the issue. CPSI is developing a toolkit that will include key messages, Q & As and tips for promoting local patient safety initiatives. This is a great opportunity for hospitals to showcase their patient safety efforts such as the Patient Safety Tips initiative. This toolkit, which will be made available shortly to all stakeholders from the CPSI’s website www.cpsi-icsp.ca, has been designed to help implement your own local media relations efforts.
