Appointment of Interim Executive Director of the JPPC

Mary Kardos Burton, ADM of Acute Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and I are pleased to announce that Steve Isaak has been appointed Interim Executive Director of the Joint Policy and Planning Committee (JPPC) effective September 12, 2005.
Steve has been playing an active leadership role in health care for some time. Most recently, Steve was the Executive Director of the Halton-Peel District Health Council and played a leadership role in advancing system integration and planning for his region. Prior to this, Steve also held key positions of Executive Director, JPPC and Vice President, Research & Strategic Initiatives at Hamilton Civic Hospitals.
Steve holds a Masters of Arts from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University. He is also a Certified Health Executive and has held a variety of voluntary leadership roles including Chair of Halton-Peel Health Care Leaders Forum.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to the JPPC staff, in particular Paula Neves and Howard Baker, for their on-going support through this transition period.
