Summary of OHA Patient Safety Tip - Campaign Use
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) has embraced the OHA’s Your Health Care – Be Involved patient safety tips campaign! HPHA is a four site hospital corporation consisting of Stratford General Hospital, Clinton Public Hospital, St. Marys Memorial Hospital and the Seaforth Community Hospital, located in Huron and Perth Counties. Aside from distributing the campaign posters and pamphlets within each hospital site, the Alliance took the campaign one step further by sending the five patient safety tips directly into the homes of its community members. The tips were featured on the front page of their biannual Report to the Community which has since been distributed to 60,000 households! Second to this the patient safety tips have also been added to the organization’s Patient’s Right and Responsibilities policy, further emphasizing the joint role that patients and health care providers play together in patient safety.
