Hospital Report, a joint initiative of the OHA and the Government of Ontario, introduced a new level of comprehensive, publicly-focused approaches to reporting on hospital performance in North America.
Using a balanced scorecard, broad areas (quadrants) of activities and outcomes, Hospital Report considered areas of Financial Performance, Clinical Utilization and Outcomes, System Integration and Change and Patient Satisfaction.
Although Hospital Report no longer exists in its current form, the OHA is working closely with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Canadian Institute for Health Information, the Hospital Performance Research Network (HSPRN; formerly the Hospital Report Research Collaborative) and the Ontario Health Quality Council to explore new opportunities to measure and report on overall health system performance.
