2011 Annual Benefits Forums 

We are happy to announce that members of the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and Desjardins Financial Security (DFS) are again hosting the Annual Benefit Forums in May and June 2011.  Seven sessions will be held throughout Ontario and we hope that you will be able to attend one. 


Since the 1960s, the OHA Benefit Plans have provided Ontario health care workers a wide range of high quality and high value products and services.  The OHA Benefit Plans’ portfolio includes long-term disability, group life, voluntary life, accidental death and dismemberment, and extended health and dental.  As a knowledgeable and reliable advocate, the OHA influences the marketplace to negotiate unique provisions and services at sustainable and competitive rates.  In August 2007, the OHA forged a partnership with Desjardins Financial Security (DFS) to offer hospital employees these innovative group benefit plans and value-added services. 

 

The Benefits Forums will address a wide range of relevant topics including emerging issues in benefit plan management such as demutualization, the Excellent Care for All Act, drug and healthcare trends that impact benefit plans, audit and fraud controls and effective governance frameworks.  These sessions will provide the knowledge and tools for effective and efficient management and oversight of group benefit plans.  They are designed for CEO's, CFO's and Chief HR Officers, human resources, benefit plan administrators, organizational health and occupational health professionals.

 

The Forums are offered at no charge to all OHA members (regardless of participation in the OHA Benefit Plans) as one of the many ways in which the OHA and DFS are partnering to bring our members the best possible services, information and education. Please note that the sessions will be free of charge but any travel costs associated with attending the sessions will be the responsibility of the individuals and their organizations.
