Formerly known as “Wellness Wednesdays”, these teleconferences provide opportunities to share innovative practices in organizational and workplace health. The OHA aims to foster expertise in the development of healthy health care work environments.
The HWE teleconferences invite organizations to share their experiences as they improve quality, performance, engagement and health in the health care workplace.
Promoting and enabling hospital collaboration and knowledge exchange are the key goals of this initiative. These sessions began in 2002 and now serve as a forum for organizations to network and discuss key issues related to Organizational and Workplace Health.
Participants are invited to update the group on recent healthy work environment initiatives at their organizations and guest speakers and relevant topical discussions are on the participant-driven agenda.
Recent topics have included:
- Organizational and Workplace Health: Evolving from wellness programming to integrated strategies
- Fatigue Management and Healthy Shift Work Practices
- Maintaining a healthy work environment and culture during redevelopments
- Liability and on-site health promotion programs
- Greening the healthcare environment
- Achieving improved medical absence rates
HWE monthly teleconferences are facilitated by the OHA and take place the last Wednesday of each month from 11am to 12pm.
