The OHA is committed to providing members with current information on the absenteeism and labour market trends of Ontario hospitals. Organizational benchmarking opportunities are available to survey participants and allow for comparisons among OHA Regions and by hospital classification. The OHA incorporates member feedback in both the survey questions and corresponding reports to ensure the most useful and relevant information is available to support and inform leaders and managers in Ontario hospitals. The Absence Survey and Labour Market Survey collect information on the following:
- Healthy Work Environments
- Medical Incidents
- Modified Work
- Nature of Illness
- Recruitment and Retention
- Sick time
- Turnover
- Vacancies
In 2009, the OHA partnered with PricewaterhouseCoopers Saratoga, a global leader in the measurement and benchmarking of human capital, to establish a provincial HR Benchmarking Program for healthcare. As a first phase of the program, a HR benchmark survey will be launched to OHA members in March 2010, which will include standardized HR benchmarking indicators and definitions.
