The Labour Market Survey (LMS) was launched in 2001 with the aim of capturing vital information on the nature of the health care workforce. The LMS is comprised of two sections: a quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative portion collects occupation-specific data on current staffing, vacancies, turnover, age profile and forecasting. The qualitative area gathers general information on recruitment and retention, strategic human resources (HR) and leading HR programs.
Overall, the LMS provides information and metrics related to:
- Workforce Planning and Forecasting
- State of health human resources in Ontario hospitals
- Organizational development
- Recruitment and retention issues
