Health Associations Must Lead Change: The OMA's Rebuttal

Tags:

Today, Suzanne Strasberg, President of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), offered a rebuttal to my opinion editorial printed in Tuesday’s Toronto Star. You can access Dr. Strasberg’s article by clicking here. I’ll let Suzanne's article speak for itself, and politely agree to disagree with her take on things. (For example, I will admit that I don’t understand why she cited reductions in various wait times as proof of OMA leadership, given that OMA did not support the creation of the Wait Times Strategy that made these reductions possible.) At any rate, I continue to stand strongly by the thesis of my opinion editorial: that Ontarians would benefit if the OMA adopted a more positive approach to health system reform. To the many people who have written to me in support - thank you!
