Toronto--Presented by HealthAchieve2009, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Ontario government’s annual Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo 2009 will showcase the substantial health care innovations happening in Ontario and will explore the future possibilities as well.

 

“There are ground-breaking initiatives happening right now in Ontario.  The Expo is the perfect opportunity to network with peers, generate new ideas and learn from the very best in health care innovation,” said Fredrika Scarth, Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo spokesperson.

 

“We’re pleased to be partnering with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care on this initiative providing more value and inspiration to HealthAchieve delegates,” added Tom Closson, President and CEO of the Ontario Hospital Association.

 

More than 200 exhibitors will reflect six themes that can be leveraged to improve the overall health system performance:  meeting community needs through integrated care; improving quality and patient safety; improving efficiency through process redesign; innovations in health information management; innovations in health human resources and innovations in health promotion. 

 

The Honourable Deb Matthews, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, will present the Minister’s Awards of Excellence which spotlight six outstanding innovations from across Ontario.  Expo attendees and exhibitors are also invited to vote for their favourite innovation. The People’s Choice Award recipient will be announced at the close of the Expo.

The Expo is being held on the third day of HealthAchieve2009 and takes place at:

The Minister’s Award Ceremony: Join Deb Matthews, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, for the official Awards Ceremony on November 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.

 

The People’s Choice Award: The People’s Choice Award recipient will be announced, and presented with a $10,000 achievement grant.
