Access to the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)

 

HOOPP offers a defined benefit pension plan, providing eligible members with a lifetime of pension based on earnings history and service in the plan.

 

 

Access to Discounts on OHA Professional Development Opportunities

 

Members enjoy 15% to 50% discounts on fees for a number of professional development opportunities. The OHA provides many relevant one- and two-day conferences and seminars, addressing current issues and trends for health care and business professionals. One of the largest and most prestigious health care gatherings in North America is the OHA’s HealthAchieve conference. Governance Centre of Excellence also provides relevant educational programs and many regions also host one-, two-, and three-day regional programs across Ontario.

The OHA offers Certificate and Diploma Courses targeted to middle management professionals as well as Distance learning opportunities connect members through the latest educational communications technology such as webcasts, online education, audio and video conferencing.

We are also a strategic HR resource, providing members with information on leading edge, evidence-based HR programs and practices. We also offer full scope labour relations services and individual labour consulting, including central bargaining, grievance and collective agreement support services, research and consulting services. And to strengthen Ontario’s health care leadership capacity, we have created the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) that specializes in development programs and related support for leaders across all stages of their careers.

Advocacy on behalf of its members is one of the OHA’s core activities. We seek partnerships with government and other health system partners, and our advocacy efforts are evidence-based and focused on improving efficiency, performance, quality and access to health services for the people of Ontario.
