Surveys 

To stay abreast of health care's continuous changes, the OHA conducts a number of surveys (and follow-up reports) to trend some of the health care environment's most pressing challenges. Surveys may focus on the needs of specific hospital departments or those affecting the broader health system.

 

2010-2011 OHA Absence Survey Report

  This report examines findings of the 2010-2011 OHA Absence Survey. Data analysis of this report is based on replies from a total of 131 sites/organizations which includes a total of 119,824 eligible employees for medical absence benefits. Overall medical absence rates are broken down by non-accumulating versus accumulating plans, union versus non-union, OHA region, LHIN and classification. The report also illustrates information related to medical absence incidents, temporary transitional work programs, long-term disability and statistics related to Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims.

Data analysis of this report is based on replies from a total of 132 sites/organizations which includes a total of 117,024 eligible employees for medical absence benefits. Overall medical absence rates are broken down by non-accumulating versus accumulating plans, union versus non-union, OHA region, LHIN and classification. The report also illustrates information related to medical absence incidents, temporary transitional work programs, long-term disability and statistics related to Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims.

2008-2009 OHA Labour Market Survey

 

This report examines findings of the 2008-2009 OHA Labour Market Survey (LMS). Analysis of this year’s report is based on data from 100 participating sites/ organizations which represents a total of 98,953 employees (57,896 full-time, 24,593 part-time and 16,464 casual) from across the province.


The LMS captures vital information on the nature of the health care workforce.  The LMS is divided into two sections: quantitative and qualitative. 

 

The quantitative portion collects occupation-specific data on current staffing, vacancies, turnover, age profile and forecasting.  The qualitative section gathers general information on recruitment and retention, strategic human resources (HR) and leading HR programs.

Data analysis of this report is based on replies from a total of 127 sites/organizations which includes a total of 113,706 eligible employees for medical absence benefits.

 

Overall medical absence rates are broken down by non-accumulating versus accumulating plans, union versus non-union, OHA region, LHIN and classification.

 

The report also illustrates information related to medical absence incidents, modified work, long-term disability, statistics related to Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims and healthy work environments.

Report also illustrates information related to medical absence incidents, modified work, long-term disability and statistics related to Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims. Health Promotion and wellness initiatives being used by Ontario hospitals are also examined.
