Today’s evolving health care environment presents both challenges and opportunities for health care directors. The Ontario Hospital Association’s (OHA) Governance Centre of Excellence and the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centres (OACCAC) are pleased to present Generative Governance and Leadership: Opportunities and Challenges for Health Care Boards taking place on December 5, 2011.

This engaging workshop will feature Dr. Cathy Trower, senior researcher at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and co-principal investigator with Richard Chait, co-author of Governance as Leadership. Dr. Trower will outline the opportunities and challenges that generative governance presents to directors of health care boards, and will provide recommendations on fostering generative governance.

Though the many challenges facing health care organizations require directors to exercise fiduciary and strategic governance, generative governance allows directors to be deeply engaged and challenged intellectually. This workshop will explore the three modes of governance and a practical framework for directors to govern effectively.
