The hospitalist program has the potential to have a positive impact on hospital inpatient care across the
province by supporting improvements such as reduced wait times and better access to emergency
departments.

The overall learning objective of the conference is to get hospitalists to analyze best practices of different hospitalist models. By the end of the conference, hospitalists will be able to better evaluate the model in their hospital and implement changes if desired.

Discussions at this conference will touch on:

• The definition of hospitalist
• Different hospitalist models
• Evidence regarding the advantages to hospitals where hospitalists function
• Hospitalist compensation


This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, approved by the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
