This program will provide the participant with insight into the requirements of conducting emergency exercises in their workplace. Various types of exercises will be explored, including case studies, tabletop and full-scale exercises. The strengths and weaknesses of each type of exercises will be explored, as well as the requirements for their design and staging. This course is practically focused: participants will conduct various types of exercises, enabling them to design and conduct emergency exercises in their own workplace.
It is the responsibility of the participant to:
- Participants are requested to bring 2-3 examples of disaster scenarios (newspapers, magazines etc.) for discussion.
- Participants will have the opportunity to share emergency/disaster experiences from their own workplace environments.
- An advance review of the 'Town of Trillium Simulation Guide' is recommended.
Homework Assignment for all three days: Each participant needs to write six entries for the exercise, to be completed for the next day.
