The OHA has a mandate to promote and foster excellence in health care governance, to promote a culture of shared accountability, and to assist hospitals in their efforts to enhance governance of their organizations. In support of this mandate, the OHA’s Governance Leadership Council is pleased to provide the Guide to Good Governance to Ontario hospitals.
The Guide contains a comprehensive overview of the key components of good governance practices, templates and tools to support these practices and a list of resources and references.
The resource materials found in the Guide are intended for use by all hospitals. However, we appreciate that they may need to be adapted to meet the needs of specific institutions. Hospitals are therefore encouraged to customize the tools and templates to meet their unique needs.
