Upcoming Conference on Current Issues in Health Care Governance - May 11, 2007
Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel, 901 Dixon Road
One of the hallmarks of a successful hospital is a successful board of directors. To flourish, board members need the “know-how” and expertise to ask the right questions, provide good leadership and effectively monitor an organization’s performance.
We are very pleased to announce that joining our distinguished line-up of speakers for our upcoming conference on “Current Issues in Health Care Governance” is Dr. Martin Merry, Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor of Health Management and Policy, University of New Hampshire, who will speak to us about Hospital/Physician Relationships.
Hilary Short, OHA’s President and CEO, will conclude the program with a presentation on “The Board’s Role in Patient Safety”.
Throughout the day-long session, a host of guest speakers will address topics including collaborative governance, CEO evaluation and compensation, patient safety, and physician credentialing, providing conference participants with useful strategies to assist with their hospital governance roles. Participants will also learn about Hospital Accountability Agreements, evaluating organizational performances, ways to foster relationships with both hospital leaders and physicians, and current governance challenges among Ontario hospitals.
By asking the right questions and getting involved in all of the appropriate areas, board members can lead their organizations to successful outcomes. This conference is designed for those board members who are keen on making a positive impact on both their organizations and their communities.
