Upcoming Accountability and Transparency in Health Care Conference

Monday, October 15, 2007
Radisson Admiral Hotel - Toronto Harbourfront
249 Queen’s Quay West

In a time of relentlessly growing demand for services, limited budgets and a more engaged public, everyone involved in health care – hospitals, government, and health professionals – are being called upon to be more accountable for the work they do. Accountability and related governance issues are also increasingly cited as critical elements to securing the sustainability of Ontario’s health care system.

The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) is pleased to offer “Through the Looking Glass – The Next Frontier of Accountability and Transparency in Health Care” – a conference that will feature dynamic perspectives on transparency and accountability in a publicly-funded health care system. Sessions will provide insight into responsibly serving Ontario’s patients, meeting the expectations and obligations of working in a public system, and recognizing emerging trends on Ontario’s health care horizon.

The conference will be chaired by Ruthe-Anne Conyngham, OHA Board Chair and will feature speakers, Hugh MacLeod, Assistant Deputy Minister, Health System Accountability and Performance Division, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Barry Monaghan, CEO, Toronto Central LHIN, Joseph Mapa, President and CEO, Mount Sinai Hospital, Guy Giorno, Partner and National Director, Government Relations and Ethics Practices, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP among many others.
