Toronto - As Nursing Week events are held across the country, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) wishes to reflect on the tremendous contribution nurses make to Ontario’s hospitals each and every day.
"Our nurses continue to demonstrate professionalism, commitment, and service to millions of patients and their families each year," said Hilary Short, President and CEO of the OHA. "We commend nurses for their unfailing dedication, particularly given the pressures currently facing our health care system."
This year, National Nursing Week is being held from May 9 - 15 and features the theme, "Patients first. Safety Always."
"Nurses play a significant role as part of the health care team in enhancing quality of care and patient safety across the province", added Short. "From promoting awareness among patients and their families to sharing best practices among their peers, our nurses are integral to the continued delivery of safe and quality patient care within Ontario’s hospitals."
