Ontario Constituency Week Activities

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario will adjourn from May 21-25 for Constituency Week. This allows Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) to return to their ridings and deal with local business.

Constituency week is a good opportunity for Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) Members to meet with their respective MPPs to discuss issues facing their hospitals. It also presents an opportunity for Members to bring policy ideas from the OHA’s “Inspiring Health Care Innovation” policy document to the attention of local elected representatives and nominated candidates in the lead-up to the provincial election in October 2007.

Inspiring Health Care Innovation” is a forward-looking document that makes non-partisan recommendations about how Ontario’s health care system could be approved. The attached Qs and As and Key Messages will assist Members in their discussions with both decision-makers and the pubic regarding the system-wide ideas featured in the document.

In the coming weeks, the OHA will launch additional outreach activities intended to inform and inspire current and prospective MPPs about our ideas for the future of Ontario’s health care system. We will update Members about these activities in the time ahead.
