Raise the profile and raise money for Lesotho’s first HIV/AIDS program

Many of the world’s least advantaged nations have been the hardest hit by the ravages of HIV/AIDS. For three years, a Canadian organization called OHAfrica has been working in partnership with the government of Lesotho in Africa to fight the spread of AIDS and to provide affordable and accessible treatment.

As a result of its success, OHAfrica is now ready to move forward with a strategy for further growth and development and seeks new leadership to help realize its plans.

OHAfrica was created in 2004 through the passion and vision of the Ontario Hospital Association, and with the encouragement and support of Stephen Lewis, United Nations Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa. Its team of Canadian healthcare professionals works with local providers at Lesotho’s first public HIV/AIDS treatment centre to provide education, testing and antiretroviral therapy. Known as ‘The Place of Hope’ Clinic, it has become the central hub for a district-wide HIV program within the Leribe district of Lesotho, and strives to integrate HIV/AIDS awareness and treatment into local healthcare systems.

Almost a quarter of Lesotho’s adult population is infected with the HIV/AIDS virus and this represents a truly daunting public health and treatment challenge. OHAfrica is on the front line of the battle and will depend on your passion to continue its lifesaving work. How? Over the next three years, you will ensure that its long-term vision is secure by building on its success on the ground and by raising $5 million to fund the work of its team in Lesotho. You will also raise the profile of OHAfrica in Canada with a message of hope that something can and must be done to reverse the march of HIV/AIDS through the world’s poorest populations.

As the first CEO you must demonstrate exceptional relationship building skills, success in building and leading new organizations, strong philanthropic skills and a passion and commitment for this work. Join an exceptional organization and bring your vision, energy, zeal, and leadership to support an amazing team that is making a difference against all odds.
