McGuinty Government To Table 2007 Ontario Budget on March 22
It has been announced that Ontario Finance Minister Greg Sorbara will present the 2007 Ontario Budget in the Ontario legislature at approximately 4 pm on March 22, 2007. This will be the McGuinty government’s fourth budget, and the final Ontario Budget before the October 10, 2007 provincial election.
The Ontario Budget will follow the Federal Budget, which will be presented in Canada’s House of Commons at approximately 4 pm on March 19, 2007. Additional information about the Federal Budget is available at www.fin.gc.ca.
Copies of the Ontario Budget speech and technical papers will be available for download for free from the Ministry of Finance web site (www.fin.gov.on.ca) shortly after the Minister's speech. They will also be available at Publications Ontario (www.publications.gov.on.ca).
The OHA plans to attend the Ontario budget lockup and comment publicly on the budget’s contents on March 22. We will also provide Members with analyses of the both budgets, as well as key messages and other materials, for use in discussing them with the public and local media.
