The OHA divides the province’s hospitals into five regions. Each region has a Regional Council, which is comprised of the hospitals within the region, and an Executive Committee with a Regional Chair. Regions are governed by their own Terms of Reference. These terms outline the relationship with the OHA, membership, financial administration, and nominations/ elections both for the Regional Council Executive Committee (RCEC) and the OHA Board.
The OHA's Five Regions:
· Region 1 - North – (Kenora, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Parry Sound)
· Region 2 - East – (Ottawa, Kingston, Peterborough, Belleville)
· Region 3 - Central – (Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area)
· Region 4 - South – (Niagara, Kitchener, Oakville, Muskoka)
· Region 5 - West – (Windsor, London, Stratford, Owen Sound)
Regional Leadership Council
The Regional Chairs, along with the OHA Board Chair, the OHA President and CEO, and OHA Senior Management, form the Regional Leadership Council, which provides strategic guidance and direction in the development and implementation of an integrated strategy that facilitates and supports involvement of the regional members and the OHA in key health care issues.
