Since its inception in 1924, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) has influenced and helped shape health care policy in Ontario, leading the way through changes, innovations, challenges, and opportunities.
Today, representing Ontario's approximately 155 public hospitals, the OHA assumes a leadership role, focused on patients, promoting an efficient and effective health system.
The OHA has four core functions:
1. Advocacy
Guided by its Board-approved advocacy agenda and the work of its Leadership Councils, the OHA works to improve government and public awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing hospitals and Ontario’s rapidly transforming health care system.
2. Education
Committed to professional growth for those in the hospital and health care field, the OHA brings timely industry-wide issues and trends to the forefront of today’s health care leadership.
3. Strategic Human Resources
The OHA provides leadership and expertise that drive performance improvement and innovation through the effective management of human capital.
4. Leadership and Partnership
In an environment where rapid change and system improvement is constant, exceptional leadership is essential for building and sustaining a modern and successful health care system.
