The OHA's Board of Directors is accountable to the membership and governs the association in accordance with:
- The association’s vision, mission and values
- Letters Patent
- OHA By-law 1
- Board policies
- The Corporations Act and other relevant laws
The Board is composed of the following 29 director positions:
- Chair
- 1st Vice Chair
- Immediate Past Chair
- President and CEO (Secretary of the Board)
- 21 directors elected by OHA’s five Regions (includes 2nd Vice Chair and Treasurer positions)
- 4 at-large directors
Regionally-elected directors serve up to two three-year terms. At-large directors serve up to six, one-year terms. The Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair and Treasurer are elected by the Board to serve a one-year term. The President and CEO serves as the Board Secretary.
